Owen Taylor is a senior associate at Gordon Thomas Honeywell, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected law firms, where he focuses on business and employment transactional law, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and executive advising. As an experienced M&A attorney, Owen works with private companies, business owners, and private equity firms, guiding them through complex M&A transactions with clarity, confidence, and a practical, business-first mindset.
Owen has advised clients on a wide range of strategic transactions, including stock and asset purchases, corporate reorganizations, buyouts, divestitures, and partnerships. Whether representing an acquirer or a target company, he manages every stage of a deal—from letter of intent, to early M&A deal structuring and due diligence, to negotiating definitive agreements and coordinating seamless closings. His work often involves close attention to risk management, corporate governance, tax implications, and the legal aspects of cross-functional operations, including real estate, intellectual property, and employment matters.
A skilled communicator and thoughtful strategist, Owen is well-regarded among his fellow M&A lawyers for his ability to translate the legal complexities of mergers and acquisitions into actionable business guidance. He has a strong record of supporting our law firm’s middle market and main street clients through successful merger and acquisition business transactions, balancing near-term deal execution with long-term business health. He frequently works with investors and founders as well, providing insights that help align operational needs with evolving legal frameworks in the M&A law space.
Outside of his merger and acquisition focus, Owen’s other practice areas include providing legal advice to employers and executives on employment law matters such as employment agreements, severance agreements, incentive compensation, non-compete and confidentiality provisions, leadership transitions, and similar legal issues. His broad understanding of liabilities, risk, and corporate structure allows him to support companies in building policies that foster both legal compliance and healthy workplace culture.
Before entering private practice with our law firm, Owen worked in corporate banking, developing a strong foundation in due diligence, financial analysis, and decision-making—skills that continue to inform his work as an M&A lawyer. He is known for his responsiveness, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering measurable value to his clients.
Owen earned his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and holds a B.A. in Business Administration (Management) from Eastern Washington University. Originally from Fox Island, Washington, he is an avid saltwater angler who enjoys fishing for halibut, salmon, and tuna in Puget Sound and off the coast near Sekiu and Neah Bay.
