Born and educated in Louisiana, Brad Buckhalter moved to Western Washington in 1991 and received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law in 1999.
Brad first joined GTH in 2000, where he practiced as a commercial litigator until 2006. Beginning in 2007, and for nearly a decade thereafter, Brad served as in-house general counsel for a mid-sized Tacoma-based corporation. In this capacity, he became an experienced advisor to directors, owners, and senior managers, dealing with the structuring, drafting and negotiating of corporate and commercial transactions, business and strategic initiatives, risk management, and litigation. After the corporation was acquired by an international firm in 2016, Brad continued to support both businesses as senior counsel until returning to GTH in 2018.
Brad practices business, commercial and transactional law at GTH, supporting the day-to-day and long-term legal needs of our business clients and helping them identify and mitigate risks, structure favorable contracts and transactions, and build and maintain successful enterprises. He also is part of the firm’s Trust and Estate group, where he assists that group’s clients with business and transactional matters.
When he’s not working, Brad likes to read and spend time with his family. He enjoys the outdoors and would like to spend more time there.
