BIOGRAPHY

Kirsten is an associate attorney and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Group. Kirsten’s practice focuses on all aspects of the employment relationship, including harassment and discrimination law, disability discrimination and reasonable accommodations requests, wage and hour issues, and other employment-related legal issues. Her services for both employers and employees include drafting and revising employee handbooks, advising on COVID-19 policies and related leave and termination issues, evaluating exempt status of salaried employees, and providing guidance on available paid and unpaid leave options. She also negotiates separation and severance agreements and helps clients navigate employment termination issues.

Kirsten also works on employment-related litigation matters and has experience providing advice to educational institutions concerning employment law and other legal issues. Her clients include educational institutions, nonprofit entities, and businesses.

Kirsten is a Puget Sound native with a four-year stretch spent in sunny California where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and communication studies at the University of San Diego. Upon returning to Seattle, she attended the University of Washington School of Law, where she acted as an editorial staff member for the Washington International Law Journal, participated in the Innocence Project Northwest Legislative Advocacy Clinic, and served as the Vice President of Service for the Women’s Law Caucus. She also competed on the Vis International Arbitration Moot Court team, for which she now acts as a coach.

In her spare time, she is a regular attendee at Seattle Storm games, enjoys every type of show the local music scene has to offer, and maintains an ever-changing list of restaurant and winery recommendations.
