Never one to let the grass grow under his feet, Steven Fawcett had already earned an associate’s degree from Green River Community College by the time he graduated from Lindbergh High School in Renton, Washington. And he has held down at least one—and often more than one—job for as long as he can remember.
Steven attended law school at Seattle University, where he graduated top of his class. While attending Seattle University, he volunteered with the Worker’s Rights Clinic and Fair Work Center, providing legal advice, resources, and referrals to local workers who were victims of employer’s failure to comply with wage and overtime laws. Prior to law school, he worked as a human resources professional for Skills Inc., a non-profit aerospace manufacturing company that provides employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Steven’s dedication to public service and employment law is as strong as his work ethic. Given that we all spend most of our days at our jobs, he firmly believes that the working relationships employers and employees are able to forge are among the most significant and influential forces in our lives. He is motivated by his desire to defend the rights of employees and to help employers succeed by implementing the best possible employment practices.
Steven and his wife, Danielle, recently discovered their mutual love of travel together on their first international journey to Rome, Athens, and Istanbul. Although they both stay busy doing work they love, they are hoping to find time to explore the Middle East someday. He is an avid reader and an enthusiastic movie fan who makes time to see a movie in the theatre at least once a week. He also loves music and has played guitar in a number of garage bands, none of which were very good, but that’s not really the point, is it?
