BIOGRAPHY
Katie grew up in Roy and Puyallup and graduated cum laude from the University of Washington in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She then worked as a legal assistant in Seattle before going to law school.
In 2020, Katie graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. While at Michigan Law, she served in leadership positions for the Law School Student Senate, Michigan Voting Project, Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, Res Sista Loquitur: Women of Color Coalition, and First Year Information Program. Katie also worked for two years as a student attorney at Michigan Law’s Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic and Civil Rights Litigation Initiative. Katie spent her summers interning at the ACLU Voting Rights Project and the ACLU of Washington. Following her graduation from law school in 2020, Katie worked on voting rights litigation and advocacy as a legal fellow at Fair Elections Center. Katie then spent two years clerking for the Honorable Linda C.J. Lee at Division Two of the Washington Court of Appeals.
Katie has experience in fair housing, employment discrimination, student rights, racial justice, criminal law, voting rights, contract disputes, and appeals.
Katie lives in Tacoma and loves supporting local businesses. Katie enjoys sunrise hiking, e-biking, knitting, playing word games, and practicing Pilates.
