Landlord and Tenant Disputes

State statutes impose obligations on both commercial and residential landlords and tenants.  Municipal ordinances may also impact residential tenancies.  The lease or rental agreement between the parties usually adds additional obligations.  A tenant’s failure to meet these obligations can lead to legal action for eviction.  Such actions differ from other civil actions in that they usually must be preceded by written notice, and the procedural time frame is relatively short.  We regularly represent property managers, landlords, and occasionally tenants in these actions.
