Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified employment law associate to join our growing labor and employment practice group. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials and two or more years’ employment law experience. The associate will advise and represent clients across the full spectrum of employment matters, from day- to-day compliance counseling to litigation in state and federal courts. This is an opportunity to build a sophisticated employment practice while working closely with experienced partners in a collaborative environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the Washington State Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly)
- 2–5 years of employment law experience, in litigation, counseling, or both
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and client communication skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with wage and hour class or collective actions
- Experience conducting workplace investigations
- Familiarity with Washington-specific employment statutes and Pierce and King County courts
- Prior law firm experience representing employers
What We Offer
The position provides a base salary of $121,000 to $168,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus the potential for bonuses based on objective hours worked and subjective metrics that allow for significant additional compensation. Associates receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays, and professional development opportunities. After the first full year of employment, the firm currently provides a 401(k) plan with matching contributions. After the second full year, the firm currently provides profit-sharing contributions to the 401(k) plan in addition to the matching contributions.
