As part of our Real Estate & Land Use practice, we represent property owners, developers, businesses, and municipalities in administrative appeals involving land use decisions throughout Washington.
The ever-expanding regulatory control over land use permitting and zoning has been accompanied by an increased potential for administrative appeals of land use decisions. Our land use attorneys have extensive experience in litigating appeals before the Growth Management Hearings Board, the Shoreline Hearings Board, the Pollution Control Hearings Board, and the local hearing examiners acting on behalf of Western Washington’s counties and cities. Many appeals also involve SEPA and environmental issues affecting development approvals and environmental review. We have also successfully pursued and defended numerous appeals of hearings board decisions before superior courts and Washington’s courts of appeals under the Land Use Petition Act (LUPA).
