About Peter

Peter Durland joined GTH in 2025 as an associate through a merger with Johns Monroe Mitsunaga Koloušková. His practice focuses on a variety of land use and real estate matters including easements, boundary disputes, code enforcement proceedings, and hearing examiner appeals. Before attending law school, Peter gained experience in a wide variety of legal fields including family law, bankruptcy, personal injury, and trusts and estates.

A Seattle native, Peter earned his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 2023, where he served as a note editor for the law review and externed as a summer associate with the Master Builders Association of Pierce County. During law school he worked as an intern for trust and estate firm, Llewellyn and Shafer. Prior to law school, he graduated from Western Washington University in 2016 with a B.A. and worked as a bankruptcy assistant at Seattle firm Cairncross and Hempelmann.

As a lifelong Seattle resident, Peter has a passion for using his legal education to enhance the Puget Sound area, volunteering through King County Bar Association Legal Clinics to advocate for those with limited means. In his free time, Peter enjoys backpacking, soccer, and building things on his family’s property near Lake Wenatchee.
